Frequently Asked Questions
Listed below are some of the most frequently asked questions we hear (after Q: "Where's the restroom?")
Q: How long does it take to get a
wedding gown?
A: There is no fixed answer for that. It varies by designer,
dress style and time of year ordered and needed. A safe
general estimate is to allow a minimum
of six (6) months for your wedding gown, five (5) months for
bridesmaids. On average, most brides order their wedding gown
at least nine (9) months to one (1) year before the wedding and
their bridesmaid dresses a month or two later.
Q: Do I need an appointment to try on
dresses?
A: No. Walk-ins are always welcome to shop. We have
eight (8) dressing rooms and a spacious veiwing area, so there is
rarely a wait during the week. Appointments are encouraged for
brides on weekends from January through March so we may reserve one
of the larger dressing rooms for you. If you wish to work with
a specific bridal consultant you should call ahead to check their
schedule.
Q: Will you order me a new dress, or do
I have buy off-the-rack.
A: Normally, we prefer to order you a new dress from the designer.
After you have tried on our samples and decided on "the dress",
your bridal consultant will take your measurements and review with
you the recommended size based on the designer's size charts.
Using the designer's recommended size will in most circumstances
minimize the alterations required on your dress. Of course
there are times when a bride will buy off-the-rack, usually because
of time constraints.
